South Indian cuisine is pretty much distinct and known for its wide variety, taste, and flavours. Many of you cannot think beyond the North Indian fare and some of you think that palak paneer and chicken tikka masala are the only popular dishes of India. That is so untrue. Since most Indian restaurants abroad serve mostly North Indian dishes, many of you are misled into thinking that they are all to Indian cuisine. Dosas are crispy pancakes made from fermented ground rice and lentil batter. You would get a variety of dosas today thanks to innovative chefs. A dash of rosewater adds aroma to the dish. Saffron soaked in milk is also added to give the authentic colour to the Hyderabadi Biryani. This is certainly a Hyderabadi speciality. Biryanis are usually served with yogurt raitas and saalans.
This is a hot and spicy South Indian Chicken dish that is quite popular. Chicken pieces are cooked till tender in a spicy Chettinad paste along with onions and coconut. This chicken dish has an amazing aroma and mind-blowing taste thanks to the magical mix of tomatoes, onions, cumin, cloves, cinnamon, curry leaves and a spicy and exotic coconut-y-paste.
