Dosa Hut: The Best Indian Restaurant in Gold Coast
A culinary gem on the Gold Coast
The Gold Coast usually brings up images of sun-kissed beaches, sand and surfing, adrenaline-pumping theme parks, shopping, nightlife, and even rainforests and national parks. But beyond its famous attractions, the Gold Coast is also home to a rich culinary scene, including a delightful Indian restaurant that adds to the area’s charm. A stand-out among the many multi-cuisine restaurants is Dosa Hut Gold Coast, known for serving the best Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, catering to every food lover’s taste.
Started in April 2019, Dosa Hut was the first Indian multi-cuisine restaurant in the Queensland and NSW regions, offering a variety of authentic Indian delicacies to locals and tourists alike.
Unlike most other Indian restaurants in Gold Coast, Dosa Hut offers a wide spread of both popular and exotic dishes from different regions of India. Apart from South Indian favourites like dosa and idly, we serve North Indian curries, traditional bread, Indo-Chinese specialities, biryani, street chaat, and a delightful selection of Indian sweets in Gold Coast. You can also pick from our wide selection of cocktails and mocktails served at our fully licensed bar. In fact, there is really something for everyone, and you can treat yourself to a new dish on every visit and still have more to explore! Do not miss out on our lunch time specials if you come in on weekdays, and if you are an international student, be sure to ask for our special student discounts.
Whether you’re looking for the best place for breakfast in Gold Coast or a memorable fine dining experience in Gold Coast, Dosa Hut has something for every occasion.
Having carved a reputation within the Indian restaurant scene at the national level, it took no time for our Gold Coast branch to be regarded as a top-rated family Indian restaurant for all foodies in Gold Coast. Conveniently located close to Griffith University and the University Hospital, we have many students and medical professionals among our regulars, apart from the local and tourist communities. Whether you’re dining with friends, family, or colleagues, our welcoming ambience and flavourful dishes make us the go-to South Indian & North Indian restaurant in Gold Coast.
We take pride in the fact that almost all the locals who have dined here have become repeat customers, which is testimony to the consistency and quality of Dosa Hut.
Firstly, it has got to be our delicious and heavenly food! Our team takes care to recreate the subtle flavours and textures that are found in traditional Indian cuisine, with quality ingredients. You will feel the difference when you experience a meal here.
Dosa Hut – The Indian Restaurant Gold Coast Chooses for Every Occasion
Talking about these, it would not be an exaggeration to say that our food and customer service have set new standards for customer satisfaction. And just like all other branches of Dosa Hut, we follow a simple formula for success—using high-quality ingredients, maintaining freshness, authenticity, and consistency in the preparation techniques and flavours, and serving our customers with warmth and respect while remaining affordable. And it is these four things that have helped us stand out and earn the patronage of our customers in a relatively short span of time. If you visit us, you can rest assured that you will always be served freshly prepared food.
Apart from dine-in, takeaway, and delivery in Gold Coast, we also offer live catering for Dosa, Pav Bhaji, and Street Chaat at parties and other events and are happy to create a customised menu as per your requirements. We are undoubtedly the best Indian restaurant in Gold Coast today, and we can promise you a satisfying and memorable dining experience.

What our customers say
What made our visit even more special was the owner – such a kind, humble, and welcoming person. You can really see the passion and care they put into both the food and the customer experience. They made us feel so comfortable and valued.
Highly recommend this place if you’re craving good Indian food. Will definitely be coming back again!
Simran
The place is clean, spacious, and the food came out surprisingly fast even though it was pretty busy. Prices are fair for the portion sizes, and the menu has a huge range — perfect if you’re craving South Indian or Indo-Chinese dishes.
Only thing to note: the spice levels can be a bit strong for some, so worth mentioning your preference when ordering.
There’s plenty of parking as it’s located in a lot with other shops, though the restaurant faces the main road so it can be a little easy to miss the first time. We went right when they opened at 11am and there were plenty of tables available, I do wish the staff were a bit proactive but they are friendly upon engagement.
And of course, you can’t forget to start or end your meal with their lovely hot masala tea — such a comforting way to finish. Definitely one of my favourite spots for a satisfying Indian meal on the Coast!
We got the Veg Manchurian, Chilli Paneer and Veg Noodles and they were absolutely EXCEPTIONAL! 😍
We LOVE anything spicy, and this had us sweating LOL. 10/10 and I will be ordering frequently in the future and am excited to try their Dosas next ☺️
My hubby loves the Lamb Briyani which costs $20.45. The Briyani rice is cooked well with lots of spices and the lamb pieces are so tender.
Their Andhra Lamb Curry is the best as well. If you love chilli, ask them for it to be extra spicy and you will love it. Hubby also found a new item on the menu which is the Devil Fried rice with prawns. It is really good, if you like spicy fried rice.
Their Mojito is only $9.95 and it's was really refreshing. We also love their Indian Masala Tea which is great to have after a meal in the afternoon, which costs $4.45.
Staff is amazing and hardworking.
Specially Mr.Sharad who organised our table at last minute.

Dosa Hut in Gold Coast proved to be a gastronomic haven, offering a delectable array of South Indian and Indo-Chinese delights. Our culinary adventure included the Chicken Biryani, Lamb Biryani, Chicken 65, Veg Manchurian, and Pani Puri, each dish leaving an indelible mark on our taste buds.
The Chicken Biryani was a masterpiece of flavors and textures. Fragrant basmati rice, perfectly cooked chicken, and a symphony of spices created a dish that was both aromatic and satisfying. The Lamb Biryani, equally impressive, showcased the chef's mastery in balancing spices and tenderizing the meat to perfection.
The Chicken 65 was a highlight of our meal, with succulent chicken pieces coated in a flavorful blend of spices and herbs. The crispy exterior gave way to juicy, well-marinated chicken, making it an irresistible appetizer.
The Veg Manchurian was a delightful nod to Indo-Chinese cuisine. The vegetable dumplings were perfectly fried and bathed in a savory, tangy sauce, offering a harmonious blend of flavors and textures.
The Pani Puri was a burst of flavor in every bite. The crispy puris, filled with a tangy and spicy mixture, provided a refreshing and authentic street food experience. Each bite transported us to the lively streets of India.
The ambiance of Dosa Hut added to the overall dining experience. The restaurant exuded a warm and inviting atmosphere, with attentive staff providing excellent service. The presentation of the dishes was appealing, showcasing the attention to detail in both preparation and serving.
In conclusion, Dosa Hut in Gold Coast is a culinary gem that deserves recognition. The diverse menu, impeccable execution of dishes, and welcoming atmosphere make it a must-visit for food enthusiasts. Whether you're a fan of South Indian cuisine, Indo-Chinese delights, or just seeking an unforgettable dining experience, Dosa Hut is sure to satisfy your cravings. Highly recommended!
The dahi papdi was very nice and fresh. The samosa chat, you can’t go wrong. It was delicious. The dosa and its sauces were great and the biryani was also lovely. The color in the rice was so beautiful it looked like candy corn and the chicken was spiced fantastically. The mango lassi is top tier.
The staff are really lovely and the menu has almost an endless list of items and their variations to try.
I would certainly recommend the Dosa Hut if you’re looking to have some great food, nice service and not break the bank for a full belly.
